Have you ever heard about Amazon Echo? You probably have, because the Echo has been a pretty popular device for the smart home. The main function with the Echo is that you can control the speaker with your voice. Do you know another thing that you can control with your voice? Siri, of course! Apple is now working on a rival to Echo. Of course, it is going to be controlled by Siri.
The function of Apples upcoming Siri-speaker is going to be almost the same as the Echo. You can tell the device to play music, get some useful information (weather, temperature etc.) and of course control your smart home. This means that you can turn lamps on and off, just by using simple voice commands.
Apple’s device will have a more advanced microphone than the Echo, according to rumors. That means that the Siri speaker will be able to know who is in the room. Then the device can adjust the features, based on who is in the room. But again, this is just rumors.
If Apple is making a great job with this device, it can be even better than Echo. The biggest con with Echo is the language support. It just supports English. If Apple makes their Siri device understand more languages, then it should be amazing. I really believe that the upcoming device will support more languages than the Amazon Echo, because Siri in iPhones and iPads understands about 35 languages and dialects right now.
