We have heard lots of leaks and rumors about the Huawei Mate 9 in the last weeks and now there are some renders of the Mate 9 that was released on the web recently. The renders look pretty different than what was previously rumored for the device to look like, so it’s very unclear how it will look at this point of time. However, from the renders, you can see that the device has a curved display.
Recently, some fresh specs have leaked for the upcoming device as well. It will supposedly come with an impressive 5.9-inch display, with the resolution of the screen is rumored to be 1920×1080. Huawei has decided to put one 20MP and one 12MP camera on the back; making it a dual-camera system. The Mate 9 will probably be available in two different models, one with 4GB of RAM and another one with 6GB of RAM. Both models will come with the Kirin 960 chipset, made by Huawei. This device will probably come with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box, but of course with Huawei’s EMUI 5 on top. The battery is unknown, but it will probably be pretty large because of the large display. You’ll also be able to get up to 256GB of built-in storage. If the rumors about the 256GB version are true, it will be the first Android phone ever with that amount of storage. About one month ago some pricing was leaked. The cheapest model (4GB RAM and 64GB storage) will cost $480, while the top version (6GB RAM and 256GB storage) will cost $705.
The release date of the Mate 9 is still unknown, but it could be released at the Huawei event on the 3rd of November. The device will probably be available in Europe because the event will take place in Germany.
Because of the large size and great specs, the Mate 9 may be the best replacement to Samsung’s recalled Galaxy Note 7’s. But only time will tell if that is the case.
