Launched two years ago, Amazon’s Alexa-powered speaker, Echo has turned out to be a success. The Amazon Echo packs a lot of features under the hood from ordering a Domino’s Pizza to calling an Uber. It can basically control your smart home through voice commands. Such an attempt might have been made by other companies that use Z-Wave technologies but nothing has taking it to the extent of the Echo and Alexa. Until recently, the Google Home was launched; a device which might actually be doing a better job at seamless integration with tons of products and featuring better voice command.
Well, that might have sparked the latest developments at Amazon with them developing a premium Alexa-powered speaker which will be rocking a 7-inch display and will reportedly feature better sound quality. The screen is intended to be used for quick access to daily information like weather and other similar functions. Of course, the new speaker will still respond to all the voice commands through Alexa. The pricing for this new product is still unknown but due to the addition of the screen, the price is expected to be the highest in the Alexa product lineup.
Next to Google, Apple will soon be entering this newly-created market around next year which may feature an integration with Siri (probably a better version of it?).
