Last month, Lenovo added the Miix 510 to their lineup of Microsoft Surface lookalikes. Rumors have surfaced today about an approaching successor. The new 2-in-1 will look very similar to the 510 according to a report and leaked images from WinFuture. It will sport Intel’s new Kaby Lake processor, a fingerprint scanner, an increased amount of battery life to 10 hours on a single charge, as well as a bump up in RAM from 8GB to 16GB.
The addition of the Kaby Lake processor is one of the biggest selling points for this device. The Miix 510 is available now starting at $599 with Intel’s 6th gen Core i7 chip. It might be worth waiting for the Miix 520 if you’re looking for a boost in performance. The Kaby Lake processor isn’t going to be revolutionary as it’s just a mid-gen upgrade to Skylake. However, you can expect some reasonable benefits in power and efficiency, as well as jumps in app and web performance by double-digits.
