Earlier we had written about Chevy Bolt teaming up with Lyft to make electric cars for their drivers. The Chevy Bolt was not released when GM and Lyft had the contract but now we see the Chevy Bolt being made in mass-production, this should excite all Lyft drivers. The Bolt is made to compete with Tesla Model 3, which is available for pre-order. The advantage Chevy has is that their electric car is only $30,000 and it will be available before Tesla Model 3. The Model 3 comes out in mid-2017 while the Chevy Bolt is on its way to being on sale.
The great thing about mass-production, it will bring down the price of electric cars. And it is not a low-end electric, it can go 300miles per charge according to GM, that is more than what we have seen from previous electric cars that have been coming out. Pre-orders are estimated to be around 400,000 for the Chevy Bolt and future Lyft drivers will get their deal too.
