Cupertino’s technology giant Apple has confirmed that over 200 different vehicles support Apple CarPlay. What Apple CarPlay is, is basically Apple’s answer to the vehicle infotainment industry. Essentially, it is a system that empowers your iPhone with the ability to be linked to your vehicle. By doing that, you will be able to view your iPhone’s content straight on Apple’s CarPlay screen. Additional features allow you to make hands-free calls, listen to music without any wires attached, as well as allow you to send messages from your iPhone without you even letting go of your car’s steering wheel.
The list of compatible vehicles has jumped up by 50, including upcoming 2017 models such as Audi’s A6, BMW’s 3 Series, Chevrolet’s Impala, Ford’s Fiesta, and even Vauxhall’s Astra. There are lots and lots more cars that will also boast Apple’s brand-new infotainment system – one of them which are well-known is BMW’s 2017 5 Series, which has been reported to be the first car with built-in wireless Apple CarPlay.
Don’t worry if you own any of the cars included in Apple’s list but you still can’t access CarPlay, your car’s manufacturer may soon release an update.
