Infiniti showed off their new QX50 concept Friday, Business Insider reports. This model is the “mid-size” model of their SUV line and will feature all of the latest technology including autonomous driving. Infiniti still wants to give you control of your car when it is driving itself, unlike Mercedes’ autonomous driving feature that allows your to turn your seat around. Infiniti is calling this new technology “ProPilot”. It’s supposed to help you with the annoying tasks that you will dread, such as “navigating stop-start traffic” Business Insider reports. Infiniti sums it up in their press release stating, “Infiniti’s autonomous drive technologies will act as a ‘co-pilot’ for the driver”.
This new self-driving technology isn’t the only thing interesting about the new vehicle. According to Business Insider, it will also feature Infiniti’s new VC or “variable compression” engine. This engine is supposed to get more for less and be able to “adapt” to the driver’s conditions. Comparing it to the V6, according to Business Insider, it will use “27%” less fuel while still reaching “268” horsepower.
The QX50 will make its debut next month at the Detroit Auto Show. What do you think of Infiniti? Do you like the design of their cars compared to others? Let us know in the comments below.
