Alexa is a software that is built into some voice assistants, such as the Amazon Echo. When Google released their similarity to Echo, Google Home, Amazon understood that they will need to work hard to make the Amazon Echo a better product than Google Home. They have now announced that they will start a partnership with Intel to improve their Amazon Alexa products.
Intel will build reference designs that developers and manufacturers can get their hands on in early 2017. They hope that developers will like the prototypes and decide to make smart-home assistants that are Alexa powered.
The video below is showing what Intel and Amazon want to achieve together. It’s a smart home that is full of Alexa devices that will help you to live easier. All these features in the video are very cool and interesting. You can for an example say “Alexa, Good Night!”. Alexa will then turn off the lamps and maybe decrease the temperature a bit as well.[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLO7R_caNnY]
