Korean tech giant LG is making some pretty amendments in it display business. Reports reaching us is that the company has taken a major decision to turn into the business that specialised in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) which are believed to improve the efficiency and synergy of the company.
According to Business Korea, LG will merge the existing five business divisions – TV, OLED, IT, Mobile and AD into three –TV, IT and mobile. They continue to mention that, Vice President Hwang Yong-gi will head the TV business division and vice President Choi Hyung-Seok and vice President Jeong Kyong-deuk will head the mobile division and IT division respectively. Also, it is claimed that the business division will move its focus from making the standard LCD display to new plastic OLEDs after they acquired the next-generation business from the OLED business division.
The company’s TV division has combined its LCD and OLED display businesses into one business. Also, the IT business division will continue to focus mainly on the LCD monitor and laptop businesses.
