With the start of CES just around the corner on January 5th, we can expect interesting announcements. LG says it will play a big role in this year’s CES, according to Android Authority. One of these interesting announcements from LG has already come, the PJ9 Bluetooth speaker (pictured below).
This is not an ordinary Bluetooth speaker however, it not only floats but also works in water, Android Authority reports. This speaker pushes out “360 degree sound”, and even packs an “IPX7 rating, meaning it can withstand being submerged in 1 meter (about 3.3 feet) of water for up to 30 minutes.” According to Android Authority.
This product has two parts, the actual floating speaker, and the woofer which is the base for the speaker to float above and eventually land on. Speaking of landing you may have some questions about how this thing lands when it runs out of the 10-hour battery life. Well, once it runs out of battery it will lower slowly onto the base and then immediately begin charging.
The price and release date of this product are still unknown but expected to be announced at the upcoming CES. Would you buy something like this? Do you think it looks cool or like a gimmick? Let us know in the comments below.
