Otterbox is best known for their very rugged phone and tablet cases. Today they have launched new headphones, USB chargers, and laptop sleeves to reach a larger market.

They have partnered up with Decibellz for their headphones. Bluetooth versions are priced at $99.95, while the wired versions cost $49.95. Otterbox hasn’t revealed much information about the technical specs about the headphones, but they claim the wireless version can get up to 3.5 hours of playback time on one charge.

They have also unveiled a car charger with Otterbox branding for $24.95, which features two 2.4A USB ports, as well as a USB wall charger for $24.95 as well. Although the two chargers cost the same, you’re only getting one 2.4A port on the wall charger. A ridiculously overpriced Micro USB cable and Utility Series laptop sleeve are also now available, priced at $29.95 and $24.95 respectively. Don’t let yourself be fooled by the branding, though, it’s not a rugged case, but a regular sleeve that is a micro-fibre-lined polyester pouch.

They also released a $39.95 Bluetooth Audio Adapter, which plugs into a regular wired headset to use with Bluetooth. If we assume that it has decent sound, this could possibly be the best deal out of their newly-released products. They claim that has 6.5 hours of battery life, which id better than their own wireless headphones but is less than their competitors.

It’s great that Otterbox is expanding their products, but they just haven’t matched their quality and price correctly, as their products are available from other companies for a cheaper price and better versions. It’s also hard to purchase these products as they are not rugged like they are best known for. These accessories are available now on the Otterbox website.
