This holiday season was a big one for many companies, Amazon being one of them. Devices that are equipped with Amazon’s Alexa personal assistant have been very popular in the world of technology and compete with Apple HomeKit and Google Home.
According to Venture Beat, Amazon released information to the press Tuesday, talking about their successes this holiday season. One of their statements talked about, as far as the Echo line goes, this season was bigger by “over 9x compared to last year’s holiday season”. Additionally according to the CEO of worldwide consumer, “Echo and Echo Dot were the best-selling products across Amazon this year, and we’re thrilled that millions of new customers will be introduced to Alexa as a result. Despite our best efforts and ramped-up production, we still had trouble keeping them in stock,” Venture Beat reports.
Besides stating that millions of Echoes have been sold, and comparing this year to last year, we didn’t get much detailed information from this release. Alexa has been an extraordinary success for Amazon and it seems they are only looking to expand with it.
