The American wearable company Misfit is mostly known for their fitness trackers, such as the Misfit Ray and Misfit Flash. But they have now released a smartwatch with some impressive specs called the Misfit Vapor.
The watch’s design is pretty minimalistic and slick. You will be able to get many different straps and choose between a black or gold case. It will also be waterproof up to 50 meters, but we don’t recommend you to swim with it if you have a leather strap. The circular 1.39-inch AMOLED display has a resolution of 326 PPI (pixels per inch). You can, of course, use the touchscreen to navigate through the operative system, but you can also drag your finger around the edge to scroll between the through the OS. Samsung has a similar function in their Gear S2 and S3, but Samsung’s smartwatches have a rotating bezel instead. The name of the software is unknown, but it seems like it has been made specifically for the Vapor.
This device supports standalone music streaming to connected Bluetooth headphones or earbuds. The watch comes with 4GB onboard storage where you can save your music. Like most smartwatches, the Vapor comes with a heart rate monitor on the back. But don’t expect it to give you your exact pulse because heart rate monitors on smartwatches tend to be pretty imprecise. The battery will last two days of normal usage, according to Misfit. But when it runs out of juice, you will be able to charge it with a magnetic charging case. Some other features that the Vapor will have is an accelerometer, altimeter, GPS and a microphone.
You will get all these nice features for a price of $199, but you must wait until late 2017 to get it. What do you think of Misfit’s smartwatch? Do you want it? Do you own any other wearable device? We look forward to see your thoughts in the comment section below!
