Nvidia is preparing to build an AI-powered self-driving car with Audi and they promised that the vehicle will make its debut in 2020. They made this big announcement at the CES 2017. According to reports, the two companies has been working together for 10 years which one way or the other has built a stronger relationship between them.
The CEO and founder of Nvidia Jen-Hsun Huang during his announcement on Wednesday said the car will incorporate Level 4 autonomy which means that that car will have fully AI capabilities which will enable it to drive itself completely on its own.
This is not the first time Nvidia is working on a self-driving car, they have been working on this concept for some time now. They revealed the Tegra-powered Drive PX platform way back at CES 2015 which has made other companies including Tesla benefiting from it. The company demonstrated the Audi Q7 at the CES 2017 which the car has the capabilities of driving itself with 4 days of training.
The company is trying to speed up the production process to bring the AI self-driving into life and as I mentioned earlier the company will make the car a completely Level 4 autonomy.
