The Chinese company Huawei has made many different products, such as smartphones, wearables, tablets and more. They are now looking to expand their product line by making a 360-degree camera for their smartphones, called the Honor VR Camera.
Huawei has teamed up with Insta360 to make both the camera and the application. The camera will be able to shoot photography in 3K and live stream directly to the app. The app will also let you download and share your 360-degree content. We have heard that they will sell this camera international soon, but they didn’t reveal the exact date. The rest of the specs and the price is also unknown right now, but Huawei might reveal that at the 2017 MWC event in Barcelona.
We don’t know much about the Honor VR Camera, but Insta360 has already released some products so we know about their capabilities. Their Insta360 Nano can take 360-degree videos at 30fps and in a resolution of 3040 x 1520, and it’s available for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 with a price tag of $195. They have also made a premium version that costs $2,999, called the Insta360 Pro. The Pro have some very interesting features up its sleeves, such as 8K filming and 3D video.
As mentioned before we don’t know the price tag yet, but it will probably not be as high as the Insta360 Pro’s because the Honor VR Camera can just record in 3K. What do you think about 360-degree cameras, just a gimmick?
