A document from Apple is said to have been leaked to the technology website Gizmodo. The document reveals that Apple might be working on some unknown hardware, and rumors speculate that it is a pair of Augmented Reality (AR) smart glasses.
According to Gizmodo, the document says that an Apple employee got eye pain after he or she used a prototype of the device, and the employee thinks that the prototype caused the pain. The text didn’t reveal the name of the prototype, but Gizmodo suggests that the secret device could be smart glasses. It actually makes sense that you could get eye pain if you’re looking at the smart glasses’ display because it is very close to your eye.
Another similar incident was also leaked, but this time the employee got both eye pain and started to see some kind of “laser flashes”. The person was sent to an optometrist to get some help. Like last time, the device’s name is unknown.
As you might already know, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has shown his interest in AR before, so it isn’t surprising that Apple might be working AR glasses. Other rumors also claim that Apple will integrate AR technology in their upcoming iPhone 8 (or whatever they will call it). Are you interested in buying a pair of AR smart glasses?
