The Virtual Reality (VR) industry is changing fast, the graphics are improving, more games are being developed and headsets are looking better. There is only one problem with the VR industry, they all require a phone and wires. Until now of course, Pico Goblin just announced that it is going to release a VR set that is wire-free and does not need a phone. The headset design is similar to the Samsung VR gear and Google Daydream.
The new VR has its own Android OS that runs on Snapdragon 820 and comes with Android Nougat 7.0 and uses two 70Hz displays. The Pico Goblin also has its own storage, display, and processing so there is nothing to worry about. This is a huge step forward in the VR industry because on traditional VR sets you cannot just pick-up-and-play but on this one, you can. It also comes with a remote that has a three-degrees-of-freedom (3DoF) that connects to the Pico Goblin itself that has the same 3DoF.
We do not have a price on the upcoming Pico Goblin but we are told that it will be affordable. If you are interested in the device, know that it will be released next month at E3 videogames show in Los Angeles.
