Apple will announce a new feature for iMessage, called Business Chat, at the WWDC event on June 9. Apple’s website is already showing us some information of the new feature, but they’ll let us now more at the official announcement. The main idea with Business Chat is that it’ll be easy to get in touch with businesses via iMessage.
Apple says that Business Chat, which is going to come in the iOS 11 update, will be used as “a powerful new way for businesses to connect with customers directly from within Messages”. If you didn’t already know, iOS 11 will come this fall to many Apple devices.
You can contact a business with Business Chat from multiple Apple applications, like Safari, Maps, Siri, and Spotlight. Obviously, you’ll need to own an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch to use this feature. You can ask questions, complete transactions, as well as let businesses, help you to resolve issues.
This feature can definitely be useful when you need to contact a business, but we can live without it since it’s easy to access companies’ phone numbers and call them. However, Apple is not the first company with this idea and, for example, Twitter also supports features that will make it easier for to contact a business and their customer service. Do you think you’ll use Business Chat?
