There is more and more 4K content being released every day and Apple has yet to join the new resolution, until now. About a year ago, it was very difficult to find movies and videos that were recorded and could be played back in 4K but now there are TV’s, smartphones, and desktops that can playback or even record in 4K. This may be the reason why Apple will add the new 4K resolution to their upcoming Apple TV. This may be the best time to join the upcoming 4K market since people are loving it and a new Apple TV would make a great Christmas gift.

We have rumors that Apple has the tags “4K” and “HDR” on the movie Passenger on iTunes and that could be a great hint of what we could expect in the upcoming Apple TV. There will be many other updates as well but 4K content would be a great step up and it is the perfect time for Apple to do it. There are also two other movies on iTunes that have the same two tags,  so it is not a mistake and Apple definitely has purpose of adding them.

If Apple does add the new features, Netflix and Google Play will not be your only source of 4K content for movies anymore.

Do you watch movies above 1080p and will this impact on your design to buying a new Apple TV? Let us know below.
