Jeff Immelt, the former CEO of GE, has been considered to become Uber’s new CEO for several weeks now. Yesterday he confirmed that he had decided not to take the job at Uber. This is according to his tweet from earlier today.
I have decided not to pursue a leadership position at Uber. I have immense respect for the company & founders – Travis, Garrett and Ryan.

It’s unclear why he didn’t take the job, but he says that the decision was taken by himself. It might have something to do with Uber’s recent drama, with Travis Kalanick and Benchmark.
When Travis Kalanick left the position as Uber’s CEO in June, the company started to look for a new CEO. Former rumors suggested that Meg Whitman was going to take the top job, but she also confirmed via a Tweet that the rumors were false. This means that Uber must continue their search for a new CEO.
