Acer is off to a spectacular start at CES 2018 with three new model updates for their Swift, Spin and Nitro series. Quite spectacularly, they have managed to break through boundaries never broken before as they claim that their updated Swift 7 is once again the thinnest laptop in the world

Whether the Swift 7 has improved a lot from its predecessor, is debatable. It will be sporting a 14″ inch 1080p panel – which some people find disappointing because of the high price, which starts at $1,699 dollars, or approximately €1,410 and £1,250. Furthermore, the swift, as mentioned above, is the thinnest laptop ever made according to Acer. It is 8.98mm thick, which is 1.18mm thinner than the previous version.

The Swift will have a seventh-gen Intel Core i7 processor, which again is another disappointment to some people because the latest eighth-gen i7 has been released. Acer has added one new big thing though, and that is LTE connection. The laptop will be able to use 4G internet which is a major new feature that isn’t often seen on laptops. The i7 will be running alongside 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The Swift 7 will be available for purchase in March.

The new Spin 3, however, will have the eighth-gen i7 processor to push all of its pixels, the screen, by the way, will be a smaller (than the previous version) 14″ inch version that is 1080p. The laptop will launch in February at a starting at $599, or approximately €500 and £440. Further details have not yet been released by Acer.

Acer’s ‘budget’ gaming line-up is next. The Nitro 5. The laptop will feature 32GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. It will also, like the two others, have a 1080p display but this one is 15.6″ inch. The computer will have an AMD Radeon RX560 graphics card. It will be available for the public to purchase in April.

Furthermore, Acer has said that their Acer Predator Orion 9000 desktop tower will be launched in February for $1,999 and their fanless Switch 7 Black Edition will be available before the end of January for $1,699.
