For CES this year, ASUS is finally giving the Chromebox a new update. Although not much detail has been provided about the device, the Chromebox 3 will be featuring an 8th generation Intel processor which is very impressive on such a small device running Chrome OS. The device also features USB-C ports as well as HDMI and DisplayPort connection. The Chromebox 3 also offers 802.11ac dual-band WiFi and Gigabit LAN.
ASUS has not quite yet revealed the full-spec list of the device but maintains that the Chromebox 3 will remain business focused. The Chromebox could also be a very decent option as a media streaming device due to its 4K streaming capabilities or even a portable PC. The addition of Google Play on the Chrome OS ecosystem is also making this new device a very appealing choice.
The Chromebox 3 is expected to be released mid-2018 although no definite date or pricing has been revealed yet. Meanwhile, consumers are waiting for its full specs to be released.
