Apple finally adopted the Qi wireless charging standard with their iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X flagship smartphones. While wireless charging has been around for quite some time before that, accessory makers are now developing products made specifically for Apple products. One company called Avido announced its new WiBa Wireless Power Bank and Charging Dock ahead of CES 2018, which is able to wirelessly charge an iPhone 8, 8 Plus or X while on the move, and is capable of recharging itself via the accompanying dock.

When looking at the wireless battery of the WiBa system, it features a 5,000mAh battery alongside the functionality to charge other devices that use the Qi universal standard. On the side of the battery, there is a row of LED lights that showcase the available power remaining, alongside a USB port to charge devices that don’t feature wireless charging.

The dock to the WiBa system is used to recharge the wireless battery by placing it on top. However, it can be used as a standard wireless charger pad when the external battery doesn’t need to be charged. Thankfully, fast charging is enabled on the dock. As the header image displays, it is possible to charge both the wireless battery and an iPhone X, or any other iPhone, at the same time by simply placing it on top of the stack.

If the mobile battery needs to be charged away from home, it can be done via the USB-C port and the quick-charge AC adapter.

Interestingly, there are slim metal plates, which are colored black or white that can be attached to the back of the phone or its case to make sure that the iPhone is charging in the right direction.

Avido is planning to ship the WiBa dual-charging wireless power system sometime in February, with a price of $99.95. However, as mentioned above, the company will be showcasing this device at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week.
