While external hard drives can be seen as boring, LaCie announced the not-so-boring DJI CoPilot, which features a 2TB hard drive, a media-card reader, a USB hub and even a backup battery, all inside a rugged design.
This device is perfect for videography aficionados, as it features a charging port, USB, USB-C and micro-USB ports, plus an SD-card slot. Any media that is inserted gets automatically backed up to the 2TB hard drive, and the device will even tell you how much storage is left.
There is even the option of editing footage on a mobile device, thanks to the integrated Lightning and micro-USB cables. Users can edit footage on their iPad while keeping the device charged. Furthermore, users can also daisy-chain other devices of the CoPilot, so users can have more than one hard drive connected to it at the same time.
The CoPilot will be launching sometime this spring for a grand total of $349.
