CES 2018 is well underway, and we’ve seen a ton of devices gain either Amazon’s Alexa or Google Assistant integrated, and sometimes even both. The ladder can be said for First Alert’s new Onelink Safe & Sound smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector, as it comes with functionality for both services. Users will need to hardwire the device to the ceiling, but there is a backup battery just in case. By doing so, users will obtain “immersive, omnidirectional audio” while staying out of harm’s way. There is also a companion app, which allows users to test and silence the alarm remotely.

If people prefer Google Assistant over Alexa, First Alert also has a model with that integrated instead. There is also one that has HomeKit support and works as an Airplay 2 speaker.

There are no specific details on both pricing and availability for the OneLink Safe & Sound, but the company is showcasing the device at this year’s CES, so more information could come out then. Speaking of CES, stay tuned to TechDependent for more of our coverage. To get caught up with what has happened so far, click here.
