Apple‘s development of its new and existing technology is something that we hear almost every day. This must mean that the company is probably armed with a wide-range of unreleased products that the public is yet to witness. In fact, CEO Tim Cook has made it clear that Apple is working on products that could be unveiled in the next decade.
In an interview with Fast Company, Cook said, “For us, on the product side, we have to come up with our silicon requirements three, four-plus years in advance. So we’ve got things that we’re working on now that are way out in the 2020s.”
Device components such as the A11 Bionic chipset in last year’s iPhones had been in development years before they were made official, claimed by Cook. The 57-year-old also went on to say that the company “can do things that others can’t”. With these words from the leader of one of the biggest companies in the world, the future sounds quite exciting for the consumer, but quite concerning for rival tech brands.
We have heard reports surrounding the possibility of Apple launching their very own augmented reality headset in 2020 but the company is yet to confirm a word even though WWDC 2018 is just around the corner.
What we do know right now is that Apple has been titled as the most innovative company of this year by Fast Company. From here, the technology community can only wait and see what the future of Apple products hold in the next few years as well as the 2020s.
