It’s pretty clear that Sony will be turning up at the MWC 2018 event in Barcelona next week, but it’s unclear as to what the company has prepared to announce. There have been numerous suggestions and reports saying that Sony will probably introduce a new flagship smartphone as well as other mid-tier devices. Reportedly, there could now also be a “surprise” in store for the mobile community.
Tweets made by Sony Xperia South Africa teased that Sony will unveil not one, not two, but three brand-new Xperia devices on top of some sort of “surprise”. Unfortunately, the tweet was later removed and replaced by a Facebook post on Sony Mobile South Africa’s page. The Facebook post, seen above, eliminated the remark of three new smartphones. Alternatively, it highlighted Sony’s planned “surprise launch”.
It’s most likely that this move was made in order to cover up the mistake of revealing more than what they had probably planned to share. It does, however, give us an obviously stronger sense of what we could be seeing at the company’s show, considering this is probably the closest thing to an official announcement Sony’s audience will get before MWC 2018.
The “surprise” is still surrounded by question marks – what do you think it could be?
